Mariah’s Story

I don’t know how I feel about you sometimes, period.

Sometimes you hurt me,

Sometimes you empower me,

Sometimes you remind me that I’m human,

Sometimes you help me make sense of things,

Sometimes you leave your mark on my belongings,

Sometimes you help me find my calling,

Sometimes you help me find my sense of belonging.

At times you have confused me, even abused me.

But I think I am too hard on you also,

After all there is so much I am grateful for that you do for me.

I appreciate your consistency.

It’s impressive to me since I struggle to be prompt in other areas of my life.

You fall in sync with the others around you too.

I thought I needed space but the alternatives made me sick and miss your bloody trace.

You mean the world to me in so many ways

I just want to take care of you and nurture you and accept you more.

I pray that I may stay balanced and support you so you can support me too.

I am grateful for you and for the woman that you have helped me become,

And the woman you are helping me grow to become.
